London Short Film Festival to screen ‘Lunch Time’

Iranian short film ‘Lunch Time’ is to compete at the 15th London Short Film Festival.

Globally celeberated Iran short ‘Lunch Time’ by Alireza Qasemi is set to compete at the 15th edition of the London Short Film Festival (LSFF) in the UK.

The Iranian short film will be screened at the LSFF--a cinematic arts event ratified by BAFTA academy--in January 2017.

The 15-minute ‘Lunch Time’ is about a high school girl who has come to the hospital to identify the body of her mother. The people in charge at the hospital would not let her into the morgue because of her young age.

The short has been nominated for a Palme d’Or at the 70th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

Among the cast members of ‘Lunch Time’ are Khorshid Cheraqipour, Roya Bakhtiari, Amir Taqdiri, Peyman Naemi, Siavash Cheraqipour, Bahram Omrani, Pouria Akhavan, Mohammad Haddadi, Alireza Qasemi, Mehdi Yeganeh, and Arash Qasemi.

With an audience of more than 10 thousands, the LSFF has so far screened more than 500 British and foreign forms and is considered as one of the most celebrated festivals by young, creative filmmakers. It has been called the best short film festival in the world by the Guardian Guide.

The 15th edition of the LSFF is slated for January 12-21, 2017.
